Open Access Journal Resources

To find open access journals in your field, you can do a Google search for "open access" AND "your field".  For example: "open access" AND "business management".

Open Access Publishing Models

*content provided by CQUniversity Library

There are different models for Open Access publishing:

Green - the author self-archives at time of submission

  • usually deposited in an institutional repository
  • usually the Author's Accepted Manuscript (AAM), post print, or even a preprint

Gold - the author or author's institution pays a fee to the publisher to make the material available for 'free'

  • generally published in open access journals
  • authors retain copyright

Hybrid - a commercial publisher may allow authors to pay for open access as well as being included in a print or online version of the journal that is subscription based
