صحيح نحزن زود ع عيال

لكن عند الله لهم خير موعود

 

احيا عند اللي له الكل عايد

ويا حظه اللي امبينهم كان موجود

 

اللي اذهبوا طاعة وخاضوا شدايد

لا همهم حوثي ولا همهم عود

 

هم الفخر والعز ولنا سنايد

تذكارهم باقي فخر ما له حدود

 

ه ذا العشم يا ناس بعيال زايد

عاشوا على الفزعة وماتوا على الجود

 

ما ينوصف مقدارهم بالقصايد

الله يجازيهم بجنات الخلود

نبضُ العز

 

على فُرُش المَعالي قَد حَلَمتُ         بأروَع ما أردتُ ومَا قصــدتُ

فَدارَت بي رُؤًى تَسري ببُطء        فَلَم تُفلــح لذاكَ نــَأت وَ قُمــتُ

وَجَدتُ بأن مصدرَ عزتي في        إمـاراتـي لَعَمـري ما عَدَلـــتُ

بعُرس بث روحاً لاتحـــــــاد        تلبســـتُ البديـعَ به صدحـــتُ

وزهوي بيتُنــــا مُتوَحدٌ يـــــا       صروفَ الدهر أو ما منهُ خفتُ

وقائــدُنا سيبــقــى خيــــرَ در       نغنــي عــزه، ويَحـارُ صـوتُ

لمــا ذا أعتَـلـي شعري بتــاء؟      "أنا وطــني" جوابـي لا سُلبتُ

بحبل الله فاعتصمـوا جميعــاً       ولا تَغــرُركُمُ الدنيــا فَتعتــــُوا

وعيشي يـا بلادي شعلـة من        تفــــان دائـــم، وبه اختتمـــتُ

National Day Poetry Competition: 45 Words Celebrating 45 Years

Sponsored by the ZU Year of Reading Committee

Theme:  In celebration of the 45^th Anniversary of the Founding of the UAE, write a poem exploring the journey of the UAE over the past 45 years.

Rules:

• The poems must be no longer 45 words.
• The poems can be in either English or Arabic.
• All poems must be original and must be the original writing of the entrant.
• All poems must be unpublished by another publisher
• Entrants may submit more than one poem for consideration.
• Entrants are invited to include illustrations or artwork as part of their submission.
• Deadline: November 17, 2016 12:00p.m. -noon.

Submissions should be submitted to the Library Administration Office on either the Dubai (Nouf Juma Library office number L1-106) or Abu Dhabi Campus (Sonia Sebastian Library office number 2036). 

All submissions must include the following:

                Name

                Student ID Number

                Email Address

                Declaration of original work with the student’s signature

 

Selected entries will be exhibited as part of the National Day Celebration at the end of November.

 

Zayed University reserves the right to use entries for publication or promotional purposes

 

Judging Criteria:

1.Judging is blind (author and poet names are hidden)

2.The poem effectively explores the theme of the competition

3.Figurative language creates a rich sensory appeal

4.Poem evokes an emotional response from the reader

5.The idea, perspective or presentation is original.
